Bio
I am so pleased to have finally published my family cookbook. I've been working on it for almost 20 years.

My mother's father was German, right from the old country, and ironically he worked as a maitre 'd for an exclusive Jewish club in NYC during WWII. He was an excellent chef as well. He taught my Mom everything he knew, and she passed it all to me.

My Mom's Mom's side of the family, Dutch, are all excellent cooks as well. When I married my husband, who is Czech and Italian backgrounds, he came with tons of excellent cooks in his family as well.

My Dad's side is Norwegian, and again, many good cooks.

Over the years I have done a lot of talking to these relatives gathering recipes and writing them down. In my younger days worked in the restaurant business for many years, which furthered my cooking education.

Cooking has always been a passion and I decided five years ago, that it was time to stop gathering and start typing. It took me that long to weed out 500 recipes that I thought would be the heirlooms to make the book. It came out so much better than I'd dreamed.

While compiling the book, I came across the artwork of Midwest artist Sharon France who was gracious enough to let me use her work. Her full color artwork graces the cover and all 9 dividers, and totally compliments the theme of the book.

I feel so fortunate to have been able to accomplish one of my dreams. I never thought this one would come true!

Cinagro Farm is my small, home-based business, the brainchild of a lot of hard work and diverse backgrounds in law offices, restaurants, federal food inspection, love of cooking, gardening and organic food. In fact, "Cinagro" is "organic" spelled backwards.

Although we are a "working" small grower, we presently cannot accommodate visitors. Plans
are continuing to encompass this idea, however.

I am a former food inspector with the U.S. Dept. of Agriculture. I was trained in food safety and quality assurance as well as good manufacturing procedures and microbiology. Raised and educated in New England, my former rural lifestyle brought with it a host of talents in the garden and the kitchen.

I really enjoy making infused olive oils and vinegars with whatever herbs I'm growing at the time.

I love to make gift baskets as well, and usually will include a baked bread [non-yeast] and a small herb plant among other things.
